The castle of Cadarache
The current castle of Cadarache rises on the territory of Saint-Paul-lès-Durance, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, on the site of a fortified place built in the Middle Ages. Back then, it included a castle as well as three chapels and a village surrounded by protective walls. Completely destroyed towards the end of the 14th century, the castle was rebuilt a century later, in 1475, by its new owners.
