Created in 2000 by The Pritchards artists couple, the statue Dali in Levitation aimed to commemorate the passage into the new millennial. It has since then been moved in 2017 to the Plaça de Catalunya in Perpignan, facing the train station. This work of art was inspired by the painting The Mystique of Perpignan station painted by Salvador Dali in 1965. The artist's fascination with the city, which he used to refer to it as the center of the universe, is well known. This proclamation by Dali occurred after he allegedly had a vision of cosmogonic ecstasy at the train station in 1963.
