The birthplace of L'Occitane

It is almost impossible to mention Manosque without evoking the L'Occitane cosmetics group. The brand at the origin of the current firm was created there in 1976 by Olivier Baussan, associated with Yves Millou. Its first store, named Au Relais de L'Occitane, was opened in 1977 in Manosque and followed by the first factory in 1981. Today, the group has around 1,600 stores in 90 countries and employs 9,000 people, including more than 200 in Manosque, where its head office is still located.
