The Louis Vuitton Foundation is the building of extremes. Every step was a challenge for architects and engineers. Even the floor of the terraces had to be specially made. The paving had to be able to support the heavy weight (6.5 tons) of the glass cleaning equipment installed in situ. Tests were carried out at the SCTC laboratory in Belgium to determine the breaking point of the slabs. The pads on which the slabs rest and the tracks of the gondolas were studied to avoid weakening the edges of the slabs. A reinforced concrete covering covered with Burgundy stone was finally chosen.
