The dam and the lake of Bimont

0
The arch-gravity dam of Bimont and its water reservoir of 11 to 14 million cubic meters extend northwest of the Sainte-Victoire mountain on the road to Vauvenargues and on the territory of the municipality of Saint-Marc-Jaumegarde in the Bouches-du-Rhône department. The 590 ft (180 m) long and 287 ft (87.5 m) high dam, operated in 1952, was built from 1946 onwards. It was designed by the engineer Joseph Rigaud to block the bed of the Cause river and retain the water collected by the Canal du Verdon.
