The kissing columns

In the 1950s, the Le Meurice Hotel attracted artists and film stars. Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol sometimes found inspiration in this legendary hotel, whose Louis XVI style is punctuated here and there by touches of modernity. Like this contemporary sculpture composed of two columns curved towards each other, which fits perfectly into the classical architecture of the entrance hall. Called “The Kiss”, this work by the Algerian artist Zoulikha Bouabdellah won the first Meurice Prize for Contemporary Art in 2008.
