Rhineland art at its best
Rhineland art flourishes in the 16th century, notably the sculpture workshop of Hans Bongart. The Unterlinden Museum presents 4 works attributed to him. Hans Bongart resided in Colmar from 1511 to 1549. He has an art in folding dresses with realism. The capes look lively and the drapes are amazing. They are polychrome and made in linden wood. The two statues on the right represent Saint Jacques and Saint Pierre with his Paradise key.
