The art of wine tasting
0
0
There are three stages to tasting wine: look, scent, and taste. Visual examination allows you to observe the colour intensity, clarity, and liveliness of the wine. Smelling the wine takes place in two stages, the first and second nose. The first nose is brief and gives you a first hint of the taste. The second nose is deeper and relies on swirling the wine to release all its aromas. Finally, the tasting is carried out in 3 phases, the initial impact, the mid-palate, and the finish. It brings out the flavours, tannins, tastes, and the length of the wine (how long the taste lingers on your palate).
