Surrounded by a coral barrier of over 994mi (1600km), the New Caledonian lagoon is considered to be the largest and most beautiful in the world because of the quality of its reef and the richness of its marine fauna. The water temperature fluctuating between 69 and 82°F (21 and 28°C) as well as the numerous coral reefs, seagrass beds and coastal mangroves favor its marine life and biodiversity.
