'Lac Noir' on the Emparis plateau

'Lac Noir' - like 'Lac Lérié' - is nestled on the Emparis plateau, a Natura 2000 classified site which forms an ocean of greenery where water abounds in the form of peat bogs, lakes and torrents in the heart of the steep reliefs of Oisans. You can access its immense meadows located at an altitude of 6,561ft (2,000m) by the GR54. In the background, the iconic silhouette of La Meije mountain and glaciers stands out.
