At an altitude of 2,622 meters in the center of Corsica, the Rotondo is the highest point of the second highest massif of the island. Monte Rotondo has seven lakes, including Lake Bettaniella. Of glacial origin, it is the largest natural lake in Corsica. It measures 425 meters long and 225 wide with a depth of 35 meters. Also called Lake Bellebone or simply Lake Rotondo it culminates at 2,321 meters above sea level.
