The Chaudefour valley
0
0
The bottom of the Chaudefour valley is occupied by grazed and/or mowed meadows, here covered with snow, while different kinds of beech groves and conifers grow on its slopes. The Chaudefour ‘couze’, a torrential river formed by the confluence of a multitude of small streams from the Chaudefour glacial cirque, flows along the mountainside into Lake Chambon. The valley is also well known for its gaseous ferruginous water sources located downstream from the cirque (e.g. the Sainte-Anne spring).
