Riquewihr's vineyards tradition

Riquewihr has always been a wine country since the Romans. Its vines are exposed on small hills and raised high on espaliers. They thus take better advantage of the hours of sunshine. The Castle of Kientzheim, near Riquewihr, the Brotherhood of Saint-Etienne, and the village's Wine Museum are dedicated to this wine tradition. In the main street of Riquewihr is a grape harvester still in use since the Middle Ages.
