The Parata Tower

At the end of the Tip of La Parata, the Parata Tower, called Torra di a Parata in Corsican, oversees the Gulf of Ajaccio’s waves from its rocky promontory at 55m (180 ft) above sea level. This 12m (39 ft) high Genoese tower was built in the sixteenth century and is one of the many coastal defenses built by the Genoese to counter maritime attacks. At the top of the stairs leading to the tower, the panorama extends from Ajaccio to Capo di Feno.
