The D2 tower in the district of La Défense

Completed in 2015, the atypical D2 tower is one of the most emblematic creations of the Franco-American architectural duo Anthony Béchu and Tom Sheehan. Located on the esplanade of the La Défense business district between Paris and Courbevoie, the D2 tower replaced the Veritas tower, erected in 1984. Its ovoid shape is designed around a concrete core and a supporting steel exo-structure (the metal mesh that covers its facade) which contributes half of its stability. The tower is 175 metres high and 37 floors high, and houses 4,200 workstations in its 160,761 sq. feet (49,000 m²) of usable floor space of 178,904 sq. feet (54,530 m²).
