The Explorers
In the 19th century, a ship of the French Navy, La Sémillante, sank off the Lavezzi Islands during a trip from Toulon to the Crimean War. None of the 773 crew members survived. This pyramidal monument was erected in their memory and 560 bodies rest in the two cemeteries of the island Lavezzo.
