The Explorers
The Explorers
At the bottom of the blind valley of Baume-les-Messieurs flows the Seille whose source is located in the Ladoye cirque at the northern end of the blind valley. This 62 miles (100 km) long river then crosses the Jura vineyards and the agricultural plains of Bresse before joining the Saône at La Truchère. Its lower course is canalized and navigable for 24 miles (39 km) from Louhans to La Truchère.
