The Centifolia rose or rose with a hundred leaves is the emblematic flower of the Grasse region, where it grows on a few family plots. A large, globular flower of bright pink, this rose is renowned for its remarkable fragrance with floral and honeyed notes highly appreciated by master perfumers. It can be found in numerous perfumes created by world-famous brands. As precious as it is fragile, the Centifolia rose must be picked by hand on its blooming day in May, hence its nickname Rose de Mai.
