The robust Percheron breed
1
0
Among the many equine breeds present at the ‘Haras National du Pin’ (national stud), the Percheron is undoubtedly one of the oldest. This robust and straightforward horse is the result of a selection made on farm work and harness work. The Percheron originates from the Perche region, as its name suggests, from crosses with Arabian stallions. All individuals of the breed are born black, then after six months, some retain their birth coat while others turn dapple grey and then white.
