The immutable quest for food

Most hooded vultures are sedentary. They usually form large gatherings around carcasses of dead animals. Adults perform long daily flights to find their food.
They look for their prey in an immutable way : 2 or 3 hours after dawn, they use thermal currents to rise up to 1640feet (500m) above the ground, sometimes even more, keeping a watchful eye on other carcass cleaners.
