Crystal engraving requires more than ten years of training to master all aspects. This technique consists of creating a decoration by removing material. It can be done with a diamond-tipped stylus, with an electric grinder and wheels of different sizes, with a pressurised sandblast or with a laser. Engraving should not be confused with crystal cutting, which involves large volumes. Crystal engraving, once popular for decorating tableware (glasses, decanters), is far less so today.
