The Cité du train-Patrimoine SNCF is the largest railway museum in Europe. A large collection of steam locomotives and exceptional carriages, such as an Orient-Express sleeping car or a carriage from the Emperor Napoleon III’s train, is on display. Important moments in the history of the French railways, from 1844 to the present day, are retraced in the Show Circuit and the Platforms of History. Outside, the Railway Panorama hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions of rolling stock from the 20th and 21st centuries and fun railway activities (mini express d’Alsace, first rides on a railcar, etc.).
