Between two arms of the Risle, the canals crisscrossing Pont-Audemer have earned it the nickname Norman Little Venice. Though it has retained its half-timbered houses from the 15th and 16th centuries, the town, once famous for its tanners, no longer resounds with the leather works that made its reputation. In a spirit of sustainable development and enhancement of its heritage, Pont-Audemer endeavors to maintain its past.
