The 'Petite Montagne' of Jura is a geographical entity which belongs to the folded Jura. It presents a relatively homogeneous topography and climate. Its soils are typical of limestone, marl or moraine substrates. They are generally well draining and of varying depth. Its semi-continental climate is characterized by average temperatures between 32 and 62°F (0 and 17°C) and relatively abundant precipitations. The site has two main bodies of water : Coiselet Lake and Vouglans Lake bordered by high limestone cliffs.
