A complete knight's panoply

Kaiser Wilhelm II transformed the old medieval banquet hall of Haut-Koenigsbourg castle into a weapons museum. The room displays a whole collection of Morgensterns, halberds, crossbows, and swords. Blades from the end of the Middle Ages stand alongside coats of arms. The museum also has armors illustrating how medieval knights fought. Chainmail was the quintessence of their protections in the 13th century. They also wore a large helm, an aventail, and a hauberk. Some individuals also had a tunic adorned with their coat of arms above their armor.
