These skiers are lucky to be able to reach the top of Puy de Sancy by cable car, which they can do thanks to promoter Jean Barbotte and aviator Dieudonné Costes, reconverted in business. The two investors saw the potential for the development of winter sports and commissioned the company Applevage to build its first passenger cable car from Le Mont-Dore to the summit of Sancy. Operational in 1936, it became the first cable car in the Massif Central.
