The gardian riding

Influenced by the fashion of westerns and the craze for Iberian riding from the 1980s, the Camargue horse has been used in all disciplines of equestrian art since the 1950s and 1970s. A leisure riding, called monte gardiane (gardian riding), specific to the Camargue horse and motivated by the interest in the bouvine universe, appeared. It is based on learning not only equestrian practices, but also dressage, maneuverability, country riding, and even bulls sorting. It gives rise to sports competitions resulting from the specificities of the gardian's work.
