Nouria Newman, photographed here on the Guil in the passage of the three falls of La Chapelue, holds the women's world record for crossing a waterfall in a kayak. After being the first woman to pass the Saut du Doubs, a French 88.5 ft (27 m) waterfall, on February 4, 2020, she broke the women's world record the same year by passing a 101.7 ft (31 m) fall, the Don Wilo waterfall in Ecuador.
