A water bomber aircraft (WBA) is an aircraft used by civil security in the fight against forest fires. These planes can drop pure water or water with a retardant added, a red-colored product that coats vegetation with a fire-retardant layer to help delay the spread of a fire. When the weather turns out to be unfavorable due to high ambient temperature or very fast winds, water bomber aircrafts can carry out a preventive air watch, keeping their holds full.
