The Rotonde fountain was designed in cold stones from the quarries of Saint-Antonin, Pourrières, and Fuveau. It consists of a large circular basin with a 104-ft (32 m) edge surmounted by another superimposed basin of 49 ft (15 m) and a 26 ft (8 m) cast iron bowl. The ensemble is crowned by three Carrara marble statues on a base decorated with cheetah heads sculpted by François Truphème. The statue by Ramus facing Cours Mirabeau represents justice, while the one by Chabaud and oriented towards Marseille symbolizes agriculture. The last statue, imagined by Ferrat and looking towards Avignon, is the emblem of fine arts.
