At the end of 1909, Ettore Bugatti and his family left Cologne for the town of Molsheim, near Strasbourg. The region, then part of the German Empire, was considered wealthy and offered numerous highly qualified workers. An extensive collection of his cars is on display at the Cité de l'Automobile, in Mulhouse.
