Narwhal tooth, a natural outgrowth
8
0
The narwhal's tooth is hollow: the enamel is inside and the pulp outside. It contains about ten million nerve endings that leave from the central nerve, in the heart of the tooth, and go to the outside. This tooth is an extremely sensitive sensory sensing organ that paradoxically bathes in icy water.
