The Cuisance is a river with two sources in the Jura department. The first source - known as the ‘Petite Source de la Cuisance’ - gives rise to the 'Petite Cuisance' which descends the Arbois blind valley for one mile (1.7 km) before meeting with the 'Grande Cuisance' at the height of Planches-près-Arbois where flows the Tufs waterfall. The second source is located in the heart of the Planches blind valley at the Planches cave. It gives birth to the 'Grande Cuisance' which travels 2,460 feet (750 meters) to the west before joining the 'Petite Cuisance'.
