The coast of the eight coves
0
0
56 miles (90 km) long, the Côte des Havres forms a part of the western coast of the Manche department. It begins at Cap de Carteret and unrolls its eight coves to the Pointe du Roc in Granville. Each cove is formed by the mouth of a river which forms a sandy haven. The harbors of Carteret, Port-Bail-sur-Mer, Surville, Lessay, Geffosses, Blainville, Regnéville and Vanlée follow one another. Behind the coast, market gardening has spread over vast stretches of sand known as mielles.
