The Schlumpf collection

It is the largest collection of vintage cars of Europe, displayed in the Cité de l'Automobile of Mulhouse. Patiently, Fritz Schlumpf set it up out of sight of his workers. He had the exhibition hall of his factory fitted out for himself and a few privileged people, and the employees did not discover his collection until 1977. Now a museum of more than 430 cars, including numerous old models thoroughly restored, it constitutes a summary of the history of the automobile since 1878.
