Located South of the Cotentin peninsula, at the edge of Mont-Saint-Michel bay, the village of Carolles is best known for its large sandy beach and its sea cliffs overlooking the bay. The customs officers’ path leads to a 17th century ‘Cabane Vauban’ (Vauban hut) which offers an impressive view over the Mont-Saint-Michel and the Tombelaine rock. Between two cliffs, the underbrush of the Lude valley has a wide variety of wildlife, including badgers and a wide range of birds.
