The basilica Notre-Dame overlooking the Doubs in Dole
Built in the 16th century overlooking the Doubs which flows at the foot of the ramparts of this former capital of Franche-Comté, the basilica Notre-Dame of Dole impresses with its 190 feet (58 m) long nave, its 108 feet (33 m) wide transept and its 91.8 feet (28 m) high vault. This building characterized by its typical Comtoise architecture from the end of the Middle Ages and its rich interior ornamentation has benefited, in recent years, from a large-scale restoration and the redevelopment of its environment in the heart of the city.
