The recent urbanization of Briançon

The municipality of Briançon in the Hautes-Alpes department is divided between its old fortified nucleus, known as Cité Vauban and located on a promontory, and the Sainte-Catherine district extending at the bottom of the valley. It is from Sainte-Catherine that recent urbanization has developed along the structuring roads RD1091, which connects Briançon to Grenoble, and RN96, which joins Italy.
