Dune beachgrass

Considered marine quackgrass, the dune beachgrass (Ammophila Arenaria) is a relatively invasive grass typical of the seaside. Adapted to poor, draining soils, it fixes the sand dunes thanks to its roots that easily colonize the sea slopes of the beach tops. It forms dense and 1.6 to 4.9 ft (50 cm to 1.50 m) high clumps characteristic of the coastal dunes in temperate regions.
