The glass cane - also called wind cane - is the tool used by the glassmaker for glass blowing. The hollow iron or steel tube similar to a blowpipe allows both to pick up a portion of the vitrified material in the oven and form it by blowing. The cane is fitted at one end with a mouthpiece (the bauquin) and slightly flares at the other end to allow the adhesion of the molten glass.
