The emblematic tool of the glassmaker
0
0
The glass cane is the emblematic tool of the master glassmaker as it allows him to blow the glass. It consists of a hollow iron or steel pipe used to remove a portion of the vitrified material from the crucible and expand it by blowing. The tube, provided at one end with a mouthpiece for the glassmaker's mouth, widens slightly at the other end to allow the adhesion of the molten glass picked in the furnace.
