Far from the river safari, navigation on the canals of Burgundy nevertheless allows the most persevering of boaters to try to observe the sixty varieties of entomofauna or the some eighty-eight species of avifauna referenced by the inventory of the National Official of French Natural Heritage in the region. They may also be interested in the amphibians (toads, frogs, salamanders ...) which inhabit the banks of the canal and, with a little luck, see gray herons or black storks passing by.
