The influence of Domitian

0
The youngest son of Vespasian and the brother of Titus, Titus Flavius Domitianus, also known as Domitian (51-96 AD), is the last representative of the Flavian dynasty. Appointed urban praetor (magistrate) in 70 and consul the following year, he lived in the shadow of his brother Titus, who became head of state in 79, before becoming emperor himself in September 81, on the death of Titus. A great megalomaniac and paranoid builder, Domitian contributed to the architectural influence of Rome and had his name inscribed on all the monuments erected by his family in the imperial city.
