The importance of poles
1
0
In ski touring, the poles are not only used downhill to guarantee the stability of the skis in the curves and long straight lines unlike in alpine skiing. They are also essential for a good push uphill whether the skis are on the skiers' feet or on their shoulders as in this photo. They must therefore be strong and adjustable to adapt to the different depths of snow and to the profile of the slope.
