Giraffes mainly feed on acacia leaves, with a high moisture level, which allows them to limit their risky passages to water points. Indeed, their particular position when they drink makes them vulnerable to predators. They drink an average of forty liters of water every two days but can drink only once a week if they find enough moisture in their food.
