The cauldron room of the Fer à Cheval soap factory is central in the fabrication of its Savon de Marseille. The chemical transformation known as saponification takes place there under the effect of the strong heat due to the vapors of boiling water escaping from the seven massive tanks. Despite an industrial decor, everything is done manually and controlled by the house's master soap maker, Michel Bianconi.
