The Notre-Dame parish church

The Notre-Dame of Venasque Romanesque parish church is one of the three elements listed as Historical Monuments of the locality of the Vaucluse department. It was built in the second half of the 13th century on the site of a primitive 6th-century church dedicated to the Virgin thanks to a donation from the Abbot of Montmajour to the Bishop of Carpentras. Remodeled in the 17th and 18th centuries, Notre-Dame of Venasque was listed since 1906 after the baptistery of the village (1840) and the towers of the ramparts (1892).
