Some animals know how to heal themselves. They find in their environment elements to heal. For example, the chimpanzee chews a piece of bark to treat digestive disorders, the Drosophila fly drinks alcohol found in grapes and other rotten fruits to get rid of a parasite, the Madagascar lemur creates an herbal dressing to disinfect its wounds. These healing methods in animals are being studied near the scientific community. It is zoopharmacognosy, that is to say the study of natural substances consumed by animals for therapeutic purposes.
