The look of an Indian palace
0
0
In 1910, the casino of Granville replaced the Salon des Bains de Mer that already had pride of place on the same terrace in 1858. The architect Auguste Bluysen chose to erect two buildings, each surmounted by a campanile and connected by a pergola. Their mix of Art Nouveau and regionalist Norman style, however, makes them seem like an Indian palace. The facades, roofs, campaniles, and pergola as well as the old entrance hall have been listed as Historical Monuments since 1992.
