Know-how from Tunisia to Marseille
0
0
Since 2003, Denis Borg has been at the head of the Borg shipyard, which perpetuates know-how inherited from three generations of shipwrights: the construction, repair, and restoration of Marseille barquettes. The shipyard was first created by his father Michel in 1956 in Sousse, in Tunisia, before settling in the Pharo cove in Marseille. Denis learned the techniques of marine carpentry in the family workshop from an early age before following six years of apprenticeship to take it over after having abandoned his initial profession as a photographer.
